Despite awareness raising efforts, a large portion of this equipment still ends up at ordinary landfills. As a reporter I often wrote about such stories, but it’s the actions that count. This is why I decided to become an ambassador for the LIFE project.«

»As I consider myself to be quite eco-conscious, I am happy to join projects that will protect us from pollution in any way. Every day I watch all this pollution around me and I try to do something to contribute a piece into the mosaic of clean environment. Waste electrical and electronic equipment is a significant problem not many people are aware of. Finally we will have special collection bins for this type of waste. Happy e-cycling!«

»Two years ago my oldest daughter was three and she found a digital camera in one of our drawers. When I realised that she had no idea what that mysterious little box was, I realised how quick the progress of technology really is and how much of waste electrical and electronic equipment accumulates as a result. We had used the camera only recently and it was still considered as modern technology, but the younger generations still didn’t recognise it. I started to wonder where all these things will end up. In the trash? What trash? So I was very honoured and happy to be able to become a part of this project that informs all the generations. I think that WEEE collection bins are more than welcome, because they help us protect the environment from pollution.«

»Reuse is a way of life. E-waste (electrical and electronic equipment) must be separated, recycled, and the components (raw materials) must be REUSED. Green corners, mobile collection and street collection bins are a novelty. I wish we would accept this way of waste collection in the Šalek Valley. Electrical and electronic equipment contains harmful substances, so it is vital to discard it into appropriate collection bins. Let’s be socially responsible and separate our waste – this is the only way we can contribute to nature conservation and reduce the quantity of waste in landfills.«

Vesela sem, da imamo projekt LIFE Gospodarjenje z e-odpadki, ki ga z veseljem podpiram in sem ponosna, da sem tudi sama lahko del te zgodbe.«
